OK gang... The big "TWO-OH" (20 years!) for the wife and I is quickly approaching. Looking for a nice place in WA to take her for a few days. Any recommendations?

My wife and I stayed at the Buchanan Inn
B&B (http://www.bnblist.com/wa/buchanan/buchanan.html)on Bainbridge Island for our 4th anniversary. We had a great time in a facinating house with a really private outdoor hot tub. We also visited the Bloedel Reserve (http://www.bloedelreserve.org/) to see the gardens, which are spectacular.

What is the date of your anniversary?

Some great places my wife and I like to go are B&B's in Friday harbor, Seaside or Cannon beach OR, or Vancouver BC for a weekend. If you are into a road trip head up to the Methow Valley which is really nice mid-fall....

Or, plan a big fishing trip out of Astoria, I am sure she'll love that! slap laugh

I would go to Rosario Resort myself. Our anniversary, is in November and we have done Rosario before. Nice time of year in the Juans, weather is nice usually. Best thing is, all of the families are gone and you have the place to yourself.

Hey DR... welcome back and thanks for your servive!!

My wife and I always seem to have to celibrate our annivesary the couple weeks of October (the offical date is the first week of September but I am never home with bowhunting and all) but what we have done on several occasions is...

Take a drive over Blewitt Pass with a stop on the way at the resturant/inn just across the road from Medicine Creek Campground/Road (on the east side of Hwy 97)... they have great homemade pie... good snack or lunch....

The fall colors are just beautiful right now and will get better, lots of vine maple and leaf trees changing color...

Then stay in Leavenworth... there a lot of things to do and see... http://www.leavenworth.org/ ... we have stayed at the Der Ritterhof ( http://www.derritterhof.com/ ) nothing to fancy but you can walk to downtown and the brewer... anyway there are a lot of places to stay... http://www.leavenworth.org/lodging.html

Anyway it works for us and the wife loves the one on one and I still get to look to the mountains and smell the alpine...

Congrats on the 20!!! beer

I preferred this:

http://www.northshore4kiss.com/

to Rosario resort, but we wanted to do our own cooking.

Another good looking option that I haven't tried is:

http://www.westbeachresort.com/cottages.htm

Enjoy, and don't even think about fishing, even if she brings it up!! laugh

Downriggin',

I second Rosario, both for the setting and the food - including Sunday brunch, but you might have dinner at E.R. Rogers in Stellacom before you head out of town. It's great, and also has an outa' sight Sunday brunch.

Congratulations!

Sincerely,

Salmo g.
