Why not consider going to H2O's house to discuss how he hates the military for a couple of days? NO? Well then I second Sun Mountain Lodge near Winthrop or Klalaloch Lodge on the coast (near the Hoh)....

This place is great, set on the top of a mountain locking west, north and south at the North Cascades and the Methow Valley to the north and east. Plus Winthrop is a great town to visit.

There are only a few AAA four diamond rated establishments in WA -- the 4 seasons in Seattle, somplace in Spokane, and, in the middle of nowhere, Sun Mountain Lodge.

Classy deal. I love the giant hot pool. Great XC skiing.
