I hope that no good...levis jean cutoff wearing, beer stained, toothless, long haired, eagle claw casting, treble hook tangling, buzz bomb casting, nacho eating, buck tooth yokel gets what he deserves!!!! I swear, salmon fishing around here has turned into a cluster f***, idiot parade. Maybe its something to do with eastcoasters coming over/californian bass masters or what but it seems every year there is more and more or what i mentioned in paragraph 1. I cant wait till it rains!!!!!!!!! sorry for the rant, its been a long week...snaggers

Wow, that made my whole day. Now i know about six more holes just like it that would be monetarily beneficial to DFW also. Cool. I noticed today the Kalama campground was dead, dead. Hmm. Are they enforcing that also?

And you came up with this load of bull from where? At the risk of starting another stupid political discussion I have to ask you lead thrower.... You don't keep your eyes open much when in "Tribal" fishing waters do you now..... I have been around many, many indians for years, was married into an indian family that was involved with treaty hunting/fishing, and also saw it up close for years of fishing/guiding on the Columbia River. It happens all the time, and the wanton waste of the resource by tribal members (per capita) is far worse than the general public. I had the Tribal Chief's son once ask me to buy Elk meat from him that was 3 years old. I asked him why he just did not eat it up. He then explained to me that he and a relative (Byron, a good friend of mine.. 1/8th indian) had just shot 8 Elk and he needed to get rid of the old stuff.... True story. When I called said Tribal chief to "report" the crime (I saw blasting a herd into oblivion a crime) he told me that his son was practicing his treaty rights and it was none of my business. I called Oregon F&G and they concurred that the tribal season was in effect from August until February and they did not have control over methods, bag limits, etc..... Open your eyes. Tribal crimes/abuses happen, and no one is saying that all indians are bad people. Just that there ARE bad indians that nearly always get away with abuse of the system by waving treaty rights, and counting on the "saw-Dances-with-Wolves-one-too-many-times" crowd into thinking they can do no wrong.. Abuse of a resource is wrong no matter who or what you are. I just wish the media would cover a story like gill-nets left with rotting salmon in them, or the hundreds if not thousands of Clearwater native steelhead caught in gillnets (although they are "endangered"). But then I guess they would just get accused of running a racist story, or picking on the poor indians, or something to that effect if they did... I am going to fish for salmon on the Umatilla river this next week, and on my trip there last weekend I saw the tribes gillnetting the hell out of the salmon and a group of white guys (married to indians I guess) selling them for $1 a pound at the marina.... I stopped in to check the fish out (like I was an interested buyer) and the fish were pretty warm in the cooler, (lying in water) and I pointed out that 2 of the fish I saw (probably 15-18lbs each) were native steelhead and I didn't think they could sell them. He said "Oh", and threw them into a different cooler in the back of his truck.... You have no idea what you are talking about (apparently you have not seen the abuse), you should not flame someone that obviously has..... IMHO..... MC

Sorry Bud, but it is more due to the fact that we have overidden mother nature and the scum that would die in a non-industrial society are now allowed to live and breed....... Idiots like that are now in every corner of this country and state...... Mother nature would have taken care of them in days of yore...... Now, we do...... Maybe Planned Parenthood should use videos like this to convince some people not to reproduce...... er, never mind, they would probably just think they had just gotten to see a movie for free..... MC

MasterCaster OK I did not interpret Micros post correctly. When he said “but when the tribal people do the same thing its ok and they are our environmental stewarts.” I thought he was referring to the fact that people thought it was ethically ok for them to act this way and that he was inferring that public opinion was that when a Tribal member commits illegal acts people deemed it ok. Micro I misinterpreted your post, my apologies for the flame. MasterCaster, sorry you had to do all the typing because of my comment

LOL You must forgive my long post, but the tribal issues are a real sore spot for me (another thing you probably already know). Being married into an indian family and seeing the tribal goings on for 9 years opened my eyes to a lot........ Hopefully someday it will get better and we will all live together fairly. Cheers! MC

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I think one difference between these clowns and tribal fishers is that it ISN'T illegal for tribal fishers to snag.
Right, wrong, or otherwise....that's the fact. Only one group is breaking any law.

I think leaving the carcasses is a good thing. Now I'm not saying that these fish should be snagged, and I'm also not one to support snagging. But thouse carcasses are going to a good cause, kind of. Thouse rotting fish will add nutriens to the water that feed insect larva (nymphs), which inturn feed trout and smolts. Even the flesh feeds the trout and smolts. This is why there are no steelhead in Alaska, I believe. The Rainbow trout in Alaska don't need to go to the ocean to find more food as it comes to them in the form of millions of salmon. Our streams are "starving" of crutial nutrients because there are less salmon returning to our rivers. Also, most hatcheries don't put salmon carcasses back into the river systems so this also creats less nutriens for the trout and smolts. Sometimes when I keep a salmon, I fellet it on site and leave all the scraps in the river, giving the hungrey stream it nutrients. The Native Americans did this for thousands of years too, although not for the same reasons. Also I've heard of some places in Alaska and Canada that all the anglers on a river will leave the scraps in the river after filleting the fish. Just my $.02. This probably should have been done under another thread but I did it here.
