I believe what brought Arnold out was the love of the crowds....people screaming Arnold! Arnold! What comes next is going to be the real test. I don't envy him the problems he's inherited and has promised to fix. The State of California is probably more in debt than some entire countries. Big, hard decisions will need to be made; some of which will hurt. Alot. I honestly don't know if he's up to that task. Ronald Reagan, the obvious comparison, was a sophisticated politician who happened to have had acting lessons. He made it in the political world through the use of savvy a lot more than his string of B-movies. Arnold got his in by being a blockbuster draw. Talk about your unprovens.

And what is Hollywood going to do about T4!? The end of T3 saw the bombs dropping; the potential for sequels is endless!!

Arnold is a motivator I think. He may be able to work with the Ca legislature and he certainly can motivate the population to get behind him. Perhaps what they need down there is someone who is not a career politician (liar). Conservatives got over 61% of the vote in the biggest turn out since 1964 in a state almost taken over by socialists. The demon rats who flooded into the state to support Gray Davis made fools of themselves, especially Jesse Jackson...That crap about voters being disinfranchised....helllllo Jesse it was a huge turn out. And Dick(head) Gephart...oh baby what a sleeze ball phony!
California is a shining example of what left wing liberal politics will get you.....a ticket to the poorhouse.

i personally find this whole thing distasteful. yes, gray davis was a bum, no question... but he was re-elected after the majority of his screwups had happened. the saddest thing imo is the power of celebrity in this country. if arnold was just a well-known bodybuilder (and not a mega-hollywood star) he would have been in the electoral mix with the child actors and porn stars. he could have run during the past election, but i don't think he could have held up over a long campaign dodging debates and saying he's going to "terminate" whatever issues come up.

at least the comic industry has been given a boost. if only there were publicly traded comedy acts to buy stock in.

oh,well... at least it's california.

In Washington Mike Lowry (remember him? He was the left wing liberal governor who looks like Yassar Arafat) and Brock Adams were serial gropers....And Booth Gardner too!
No big deal! a butt here, a boob there...grope your way to the governor's mansion..Hey in California Larry Flynt of Hustler magazine got 14,000 votes , Gary Coleman got 12.000 and a porn star got about 12,000 votes too.

Fortunately a politician's penchant for groping doesn't seem to follow party lines as Brock Adams was a republican I believe? :p
