Hey guys, As I'm sure alot of you were looking forward to this weekend fishing our coastal rivers, I too have been waiting for a chance at the fall run of kings&silvers. Now(rainout) we're all screwed... or are we? Does anybody have any suggestions or info on Drano,Klickitat,Grand Rhonde this time of year?Do any of these rivers get good runs of kings or coho? Thanks ahead of time, your info maybe salvaging my annual B-Day bash.

The G.R. should have a ton of steelhead right now, and the Snake too. Also the Snake has soem great smallmouth fishing. Happy Birthday!

Thank you Dan for the well wishes,Dave and I always go fishing on my birthdayand this year will be no different. Thanks again and I will stay in touch. If only someone might be so kind to lend me a little info on the Klickitat it would be much appreciated. I'm not asking about your favorite drift , what bait to use,or any other tight lipped secret. I'm just wondering if it has a fishable number of salmon returning.I'll figure out the rest. Sid out.

Periwinkle, I see you are from the Seattle area . How long of drive is it (hrs.)? And on another note, I'm still waiting for a legitimate answer about the Klickitat. Maybe I should ask is this a zipper and I'm just so dense that I don't realize it?

Sid, Mill Creek isn't really Seattle area!!! (30 mi) wink . But the G/R is not a zipper... it's just far away,, well publicized, and oh, the fly guys love it......
Anyways, I used to hunt birds and camp at Central Ferry and then drive to the G/R to fish. If you drove straight thru, I'm guessing 7-8 hrs. After you get to Asotin you've got about another hour or so over the pass to the river.. Don't go to the lower river,, monopolized by 'fly fishers'.. Call Kaufmans or another fly shop about driving time.. If you have never been there, GO, it is beautiful in the Fall and no heavy pressure. 3 days or more best.. smile Listen to chukars cackle on the hills, maybe see some Bighorns, snakes should be dormant. laugh
