This is my first year salmon fishing and i/we have been doing real good on the puyallup but its slowing down a lot now so we have moved up to the carbon and have been doing well there now but my question is when does it end? When do i start fishing for steelhead? Where is a good place in the tacoma south seattle area to fish for salmon/steelhead? What is the best setup to use? I know this is a lot of questions to be asking and i'm sure some of you have your secrets but i'm not asking for secrets i just need a small bit of info to help a noob get started. I have been looking around on various web sites but have came up with nothing really. Any info would be cool

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I usually shift gears around Thanksgiving to focus on steel. After this monster rain, you might find some early winter steel showing up.

When I first found this site I spent weeks just digging through the Archives. Just about any question you can imagine has already been asked. If you work at it you can get a sense of what was happening around this time in prior years, and maybe even where it was happening.

Unfortunately I know squat about the waters you are asking about but thanksgiving is good advice. As far as what set up to use that is a loaded question with a trillion ways to think.I personaly am confident casting little shiny things on the end of a long spinning rod.

Tight lines and remember that half the fun can come from the satisfaction of solving the puzzle.
