Fished the Satsop today. I almost didn't go because of the fear of crowds after the Seattle paper and threads here had stated that it was full of fish. However, there was less than a dozen people fishing the meat hole just above the S-curves. smile

I guess everyone else thought it would be too crowded so they stayed away. There was even a "gut-truck" at the parking area selling hamburgers, hotdogs, and espresso. eek First time I'd ever seen something like that. Kinda tells ya how unzipper the Satsop is. wink

Caught and released a half dozen chum in a few hours and called it quits. Didn't see any silvers caught or rolling. Kid next to me must have hooked two dozen fish and the closest he ever got to the mouth was the ventral fin. rolleyes Did actually see one fish caught that would have been worth taking home. Only had a slight bit of color for a dog up the river.

They didn't stay home they were all at the mouth of the Satsop on the Chehalis. The one boat ramp at Fuller bridge was a joke. People lined up to take out, guys trying to put in and others cleaned fish while their trailer and rig blocked the ramp. It was unreal how STUPID people can be. On the flip side there were a lot of courteous fishermen despite the crowds.

I was fishing at the same spot. A buddy of mine and myself each got a nice silver and the older guy next to me landed a nice 10 lb hen. We were fishing off of the log jam. Caught all of ours off of spinners. 80% of our fish were in the mouth. My buddy had to get the spinner out of the back of his silvers throat. SAw another HUGE silver hooked but went down to never be seen again. Those were the only four silvers I saw on the Satsop. Walked down to the mouth and it was crazy. Boats everywhere but they were catching fish. Had a good time.
