Wow too many types of music to be limited

If I had to choose 3 for a Country Island they would be:

Jhonny Cash At Folsom Prison
Hank Williams greatest hits
The Marshall Tucker Band greatest hits

If I had to choose 3 for a blues Island blues :

Elmore James King of the Slide Guitar
Big Joe Turner Shake Rattle Roll
Sonny Boy Williamson His Best

then you have big band, classical on and on!

Okay Piper, you inspired me to take a little time off my my yardwork duties today to go in a box in the closet to see what I could find.

This is sad!!

No vinyl clothes or purple hair for me, but I was the master of bleaching levi's and coats ... this was junior year in high school, 1985.

This is from my senior yearbook (I'm far right if you couldn't tell!) ... always tan, clubber-boy!

More varying stages of Bob:

Freshman year at UW, party boy always with frat sweatshirts on:

No sweatshirt this time, but a sample of how I usually dressed:

This was one of my my favorite activites, sleeping off too much fun. Since this is a music thread, I should point out the large promo material for Belinda Carlisle I got from Tower Records by paying the guy $20 to take it down early!

Then there was that "Golf Phase" late in school ... living at Harbour Pointe selling golf clubs and fishing as much as I could. The golf job was perfect 'cuz I worked tons of summer hours and few in winter ... letting me head to the coast for as many days as I could get away missing classes.

And again, back to the music end of things. I'll share something else I found in that box. It's perhaps my longest-held, dirtiest, dark secret. But I'll tell you now before Sparkey tells stories!

I had the hots for Debbie Gibson!!

Love the pics Bob. I too am an 80 throwback... Graduated HS is 86. Them were the days. Nothing but Girls, music, more girls...

Debbie Gibson :p . Too funny...

Man, she looks an awfully lot like Britney Spears... If memory serves, she didn't sing any better either. babble

HAD ... HA

You guys, he is embarrassed to admit it but he still actually has the hots for her, it wasn't too long ago that she was the screen saver on the computer rofl rofl

I was going to answer for him but he beat me in here ... here are his real choices (believe me I am forced to listen to the crap)

Debbie Gibson - Out of the Blue
Debbie Gibson - Greatest Hits
and last but not least
Debbie Gibson - M.Y.O.B. - her latest (she actually has a latest can you believe this) rofl rofl

OK ... I'll quit making fun of him now banana banana

Oh, I guess I should list mine ...

Collective Soul - Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid
Collective Soul - Dosage
Collective Soul - 7even Year Itch

I am sure Bob feels they same way about my music choices as I do about his, since he to has had to listen to them over and over again smile

It is funny you should mention it Bob. As I walking out the door for work this morning and saw your choices, I could not wait to get home to tell everyone the deep dark truth about your infatuation with Debbie Gibson...but you beat me to the punch!

But I can tell everyone about the little compromise that you and Fishgal had to make. As I understand it, Fishgal would only let you keep your poster of Debbie Gibson on the ceiling above your bed, if right along side Debbie, was Fishgal's favorite Dan Marino poster.

But since you could not handle waking up to Dan Marino looking down on you every morning, you had to give up on ole Debbie starring down at you, as you slept!! wink

Anyways, my choices are as follows:

1)Jawbreaker-Dear You
2)The Cure-Galore
3)The Clash-London Calling

...two close runner-ups would be Jimmy Eat World's Clarity and one of my many favorite Bob Dylan albums.

Wow, it's pick on Bob day you two smile

Let's tell the real truth about Fishgal's choices ... I just went out to the Blazer to see what CD's she had stacked up in the holder below the player. This is what I found:

Vanilla Ice- Hooked
Clay Aiken - Measure of a Man (that geeky American Idol dude)
Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True
AND every Rick Sprinfield album ever recorded eek eek laugh laugh

As an alternate to my first three I'll take Adam Sandler's "They're all gonna laugh at you."

The answer to this question is the same as I would give to the question 'which three cd's have you listened to the most'....simply because they'd have to pass the 'couldn't possibly ever get sick of' rule...

Opeth - Still Life

AC/DC - High Voltage

Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun

For some reason I can easily picture 4salt hitting repeat on 'More Than Words' from now 'til eternity. God forbid if we were ever stranded on that island together....I fail to see our CD's surviving much past the first day..... laugh

Debbie Gibson karaoke anyone?

OMG FishGal.... Vanilla Ice??? You have GOT to be kidding!! LMAO!

Yeah Bob, I am a few years older than you but I have to admit I had the hots for Gibson too.... She was just a cutie. Still is really.

Even though I have over 300 cd's, my choices would have to be.....

Paul Simon- Still Crazy after all these Years

Queen- Greatest Hits

Acoustic Alchemy- The Very Best of Acoustic Alchemy

Hope I never have to go with only 3, but although a hard choice I guess those would be it......
