Wow!!!! eek there were over 30 requests for
wild steelhead release no exceptions (put different ways). Overwelmingly more denied requests than any other denied request by 30 times eek eek .

The excuse is its to soon to talk about this issue again, and it would create problems with the tribes.

Sounds to me that people want to talk about it agian. I think they are affraid it would happen this time.

They even state in there that Most anglers that fish for wild steelhead choose CnR.

What a crock. I think the state needs a lawsuit filed agianst them on this issue. Overwelmingly this topic wants to be on the table again. I think they are affraid to let it be heard.

On thing that is abundantly clear about WDFW is that they acting with too much independence. They forget that they are working for you and me. The agency at the Olympia level does not care what we think. They only listen to us because they have to. if they had their way there'd never be any public testimony about anything the agancy does.

WSR is the most common sence reg that could ever have been proposed. it was proposed by more anglers than any proposed regulation in history and more anglers support it than have ever supported any agency action ever..
They don't care though they are gonna do what they want without regard for the will of the people.. nothing new there

What percent of the states fishermen do you really think support c&r? Try not to use your own basis to answer, just try to answer what percentage you believe support total catch and release on wild steelhead.

If you truly know what they are, then and only then will you be able to challenge WDFW or the Commission.

When you say WDFW works for you and me you are half right. They work for you and me half the time and the other half for the tribes who are all but controlling our fisheries. We are being politically correct to the point of cutting our own throats.

I would guess that less than 50% support total C&R of steelhead. Maybe less. So being politically correct and trying not to pi$$ anyone off ..after appeasing the indians, of course, and the commercials I would say that the wild steelhead C&R support is small...by comparison. Remember that releasing wild steelhead would be forgone opportunity to be scooped up by the tribes. So it isn't cut and dried or black and white to WDFW. What good would it really do for sports fishers to release the wild steelhead so they can get gill netted? NET ZERO

Grandpa,

I seem to remember that it was 60% or so in favor of total CnR of wild Steelhead per WDFW numbers when this proposal was voted on last time.

I might be wrong but I think it was in the 60% ball park.

The ones that hit home with me are the 5 sturgeon a year punchcards (so theres more for the gillnetters) and the proposal that these idiots that bring fish in the boat to release em won't be able to do that anymore. About time for the latter of the two. I haven't had time to read the whole thing so there is probably more that will catch my eye.

what's with the 6 gill regulations? right before that one guy started catching them in seattle, they were thought to be common all over puget sound, just never seen since they're so deep. now they want to prohibit you from taking them into your boat(like salmon)? is it possible that one guy who caught 5 of them or so crashed the whole stock in the sound?

if i remember correctly, it was a bunch of angry scuba divers that didn't want people catching their pet sharks confused
