LtlCleo's last tip is waaay important. Along those lines, I always have a complete change of clothes in my truck. About onece a year I manage to get soaked, and I know from expirence that driving home 50 miles in soaking wet clothes is no fun.

A great way to balance a rod is to buy some weights that are used for balancing tennis rackets, they are self adhesive and you can find them at any sporting goods store. Once you have applied the right amount to the butt end of the rod, dip it in plasti dip coating and your done.

On the same lines as ltlcleo Iv'e done this with spinners for years with great success.
It works in the top end of run where the water drops down quickly where the agressive fish are at. There is a bit of learning this technique due to getting the propper blade rotation under the water conditions that your fishing. You'll know when you have achieved this, your strike will be violent and hard from mostly big fish.
