i like fishin the old loomis IM6 1144c its just like the new version the 1143c. I also use an older reel the shimano 251 bantam... Gotta love the the older gear, less flaws, and higher quality production in some cases, usually with the rods though

My go to for steelies are the first generation IMX str1084c with a browning A600 reel backed up on some YO-ZURI hybrid 12# and good flourocarbon for leader and hadn't failed me yet. I just enjoy going out for the practice, and practice, and practice.... laugh

For most rivers my Hanson float reel coupled with my 13'6" diamondback does the trick. And for Big rivers 15 foot Talon beats the steel into submission.

For some reason I have always been drawn to the Lamiglas 106 Dave Vedder 8-12 rod. I do also like the 106 Dave Vedder 10-20.for bigger rivers and bigger fish.

Though I have to many rods to list my G Loomis 1025c GL3 with a Calcutta 251 seems to be with me more then any other.

For Alaska my weapon of choice is a Lami, LHS2 9' with either a Penn Mag 10 or 109.
