I just logged in to the site to start a new thread about this. Looks like I may be headed out tomorrow out of Shilshole for a whirl. Anyone been catching?

Hey Seacat,

I hear Manchester didn't meet expectations for the opener (???)

Area 13 has been pretty good for my boat. Recently took FishDontBiteForMe out for his first blackmouth. Just a shay over 9#

I released one that barely (and I mean barely) missed 22"

Trip Pix

Gibson has been fishing pretty darn good lately. I am back out on Saturday to give it a go.

DR,

Nice feeeesh.

Shakers was the report up here.

I haven't been out in the last couple of weeks. Not since the Elliott Bay b'mouth derby. I am hoping to get a line wet this weekend if the weather holds out.

smile For all you inquiring minds here is the skinny on our trip down to the Richmond Beach area. Left Everett @ 7:30am and made the 40min(flat water) run down to Edmonds. Started fishing just south of the marina following the 100' - 110' contour line. Hit our first fish(the only keeper) at around 8:30am at the south end of the tank farm. Continued south following the same contour and hit about a half dozen shakers in the 18" - 20" range between the tank farm and Richmond Beach. The bite seemed to shut off at 9:30am and we didnt hit another fish untill just before we called it quits at 11:30am. All in all a great day to be out on the water! thumbs

All fish were caught on a green glow hotspot with a 3 1/2" coyote in the "Super Trooper" pattern. Will try it again tomorrow!

I've tried to find those super trouper patterns and haven't had any luck since they were introduced early this summer. Do you know if the're still out there on some tackle store Chaser? By the way, why don't you just launch at Shil Shole?

We went down in my buddies boat and he keeps his moored at the marina in everett.

The last time I was at Teds I grabbed the last one he had.(last Aug.) I had to go digging thru all the boxes of coyotes he had on the bottom shelf. The kid at the counter said it was a six week backlog on orders. You might give them a call, maybe they got some more in.

Fished West point, Point Monroe, Jeff Head and Meadow on the way back in today. Nothing but shakers the whole way.

We snagged what appeared to be part of a ghost net rigging (very heavy, only lifted far enough to release) and I added to my crab pot collection smile

Weather reports show a little rain over the next few days but the water should be nice and calm after tonights system blows through.

This time last year we were limiting every day we went out huh

I went Squid Jigging last night at pier 62. The salmon where cruising through the squid like mad. With such a good squid year they may be full.

Right on Chaser,

Are you talking about a Silver Horder plug or hoochie? Plugs are a good bet for nice sized BM's this time of the year. 14# is a beauty, nice job.

Thanks for the report.

Those who know me from this board know I've been harping on plugs for BM's for a few weeks now! smile

Chaser, Right on, thought that's what you were talking about. Seems like there are some nice BM's around right now in between the hords of shakers.

Mooch, new avatar is nice. Yep, plugs are hot! More keepers, less shakers!

Do you guys fish 'em fast or slow? I like to move right on out when I'm trolling plugs, 2.5 -3.0 for BM's. Do you like Tomics or Silver Hordes better?

smile 2.7mph + on the gps and 2mph+ on the paddle. I prefer silver hordes but my buddy who taught me plug fishing uses both and often uses his old wooden lucky louies much to the chagrin of his collector friends. laugh Have always caught bigger fish on the plugs. When ever I can fish 2 rods ( 2 people) I like to run a flasher on one( to pull the fish in) and a plug on the other. smile
