I am looking for input on how many of you that come to sekiu and neah bay fishing throughout the summer would consider leaving your boat and rv's in the clallam bay area rather than tow them back and forth if there was a place for them. We are planning to have a storage facility operating by summer and will have plenty of room for open storage. Site will be completely fenced with automatic gate with code entry. Also will have fresh water clean up area for boaters. It will be right along the highway for easy access. Thank you for your input and sounds like another great year ahead on the salt!!

That would be sweet. I would think about using it and having the extra storing area would leave the other docks with the room that it needs.

If the price is right - i.e. beats the ferry cost, I will be a regular customer.

I would consider it - what are you thinking of charging? How close to Sekiu?

Weekly rate options would be helpful.

I would also consider it depending upon what the Area 5 rules are this year and the cost versus plain old moorage.

Very interesting idea. Here is my $0.02. I would definitely consider it for a week at a time here and there through the season, but it would have to be absolutely safe(guaranteed/insured), convenient, and relatively inexpensive.

Downside to leaving it there.... 1) Can't use boat for local trips during week. 2) Worry about boat being vandalized. 3) Weekend plans are now less flexible, I know that I have to go back up and pick boat up.

Looking at the downside, I don't know how much I would be willing to spend. $20-30 per week? And from a business point of view, I don't think I would want the responsibility of storing boats for $20-30 per week.

currently leave my boat at CAIN's works out great for me, might be tough to beat his fee.

We fish Neah Bay and feasability studies have shown that it is a wash for us(monthly moorage). I think your idea has merit. Where at in sekiu are you as I have an old aquaintence who has done this for years on a limited basis.

If you are interested in storing your boat/trailer in Neah Bay, ask The Cape Motel/RV park. It's safer than Big Salmon or Snow Creek since it'll be hidden from the main road and your boat would be parked right next to the office that's attened by atleast one of the owners 24/7 all spring and summer long. I don't know prices but those folks at the Cape are very reputable and fair and run the best logding on that rez.
I'm curious why Sekiu is so busy when it is?
Drive all the way up there and don't make the last 20 miles to Neah. Hmm, mabye I'll make it a topic.
It sounds like a good deal you've got in Sekiu if the price is right though.

Thanks for all the replies guys. We are just gettting this thing in the works so we are open to all ideas for weekly or monthly rates. Not sure of them yet other than they will be competitive and the place will be clean and secure as a chainlink fence with barb wire can be. As far as insured, it is my understanding that self storage facilities are not responcible for the renters belongings , but I will be checking on that for sure. I see the up and down side of leaving your boats but you now when those coho are running you'll be out every weekend!! Will keep you posted on our progress.
