I had an opportunity to sneak over to Roseburg Wed. PM to drop off my anchors and sneak a few pics of the new vessel in pregress. Once again the NR guys are so great to work with... Brain, Jay, and Gary and the crew have really made this fun! Myboat was actually in the "top shop" and hopefully if a couple zippers come in tomorrow it will be off to paint and rigging. Here's a shot of the custom alum. frame top... that'll keep the kids warm and dry! and the welded anchor chalks... Thanks again Jay!

Don't worry about the alumaweld guys. They might not realize that the bottom hull thickness of your NR in thicker than any other river boat, that I know of anyway. A full quarter of an inch if I'm not mistaken. Compared to the .190" of an AW, and the paper thickness of others.

Sweet boat. I have a Northwest Jet and it has the 1/4 inch bottom also. Be sure and put the Hamilton 212 on it. Thats a 21 footer I am guessing ??

Besides the fish dont care what your boat looks like. Ok, I was told by an AW owner friend of mine that all were .190". I stand corrected.

Do they even build true river boats anymore? I'm familiar with the deep vee's. Actually, I grew up fishing out of one as a kid (Dads). I was under the impression that they'd configured all their hull models for the ocean/big water market. They're quite an aluminum boat.

we are actually painting is 2003 Ford dark metal flake blue to match dad's new powerstroke.
As for the Willie Raptor, great boat! Mike and Jim are great to work with, but the finish of a North River is second to none.. I was able to get a couple more options on the NR that I couldn't on the Willie, (custom polished alum trailer, custom alum frame top, see inclosed pics, custom anchor brackets welded anchor chalks, and color match zolatone interior paint, advanced trolling system) Just to name a few.. plus the NR was about $4K less than the Willie..

All that extra weight comes @ a cost though, more weight means you need more power and slower handling. BTW, Nice boat TH.. (you should get a diesel inboard )

Your right WRO, I agree. I also believe that most AW's are great, and have some outstanding fishing features. I kinda like the idea, that if I'm gonna make the purchase on a big river boat, that it will be built on the strongest platform in the industry, (such as a .250 one peice hull instead of a .190" or thinner). Strongest, is a relative term ofcourse. Any way, nice boat TH. Hope it works well for you and you kids.
Off to fish.
