I spent time up in Boulder Junction at the Trout Lake Station for the UW. There, the beer of choice was Point!

One thing I miss is the bobber fishing for perch and bluegill. There just aren't good panfish lakes here on the OP. It's just not the same as fishing for salmon... there's nothing like bobber fishing with little kids.

However, I wouldn't trade good bluegill fishing for one of their winters. No way!

I used to live in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan (Marquette) and would routinely drive to Vilas County for muskies during the summer. During the winter, it was yellow perch and walleye thru the ice. How many of you have ever fished for perch in 50 feet of water (and two feet of ice) while sitting in the front seat of a pickup truck? Been there...

But that was back when I was single and had alot more time to fish. Ah, the good ole' days.......
