I have a driftboat and have been using the American oarlocks that came with my Sawyers. I haven't had any problems, just looking to upgrade and wondering if there is something on the market that is worth going to. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

Caravelli (spelling?). I don't know if these are still available, but when I sold my old Willie everyone was trying to get them off of the boat. They looked like you could lift a truck with them.

Call Ron at Lavro Boats. I am not familiar with all the manufacturers however he has some brass oarlocks that will withstand anything. The oar will break or the side of the boat will tear before this oarlock will break. All you need to do is to adjust the "tongs" correctly to make sure you don't turn the boat over when you "stick" an oar.
