Couldn't agree more with Parker on the wait issue. Although it's been a bunch of years I still remind my kids about it when ever they complain about my silly antics. And yes Parker we are living in the wrong state at least in the summer!

Bob,
Thanks for sharing part of your "What I Did This Summer" photo album! If I can manage to meet up with y'all in September, we'll have to talk about an AK trip for next year....

Hope we'll see ya in September Michael ... another volunteer for babysitting for a day. heck, at this rate, Corey will be able to fish every day!

There's a rubber shortage fellas ... even a thong in my size would probably eat up the rest of world supply smile

I do like them ... I can now still hold onto a golf club after mid-summer ... if Iz can find time to play. Not a swing one yet this summer frown

Thanks for sharing your Alaskan adventures. After seeing all those razors I imagined myself in front of Artie Andersons wood smokehouse (just a stones throw from US 101 on the Calawah) in Forks in 1975 smoking my first batch of those critters. Man, next to Lake Creek Kings (read Yentna River) your making the ole mouth water.

Damn, how in the hell did ya discover Tiger Sauce!????? Even Tom Douglas of Seattle's Dahlia Cafe doesn't have a clue to this stuff!

Let me know if you or Forum members want a tasty recipe for 5000D's "Baja Wet Fish Burrito's" and yes it does include Tiger Sauce! Surf lessons will cost!

Take Care Buddy...........I'm down here in Area 13 simply scratching for some early K's in the ole Puma* watching Mount Rainier go by and dreaming about Alaska............5000D

*Puma: A 14' lapstrake fiberglass moocher that was the typical resort boat rented out of La Push in the early to mid-70's. Back then, Harley's Resort and Surf Resort had these and Pacific Mariners. A guy or two or even a family of four could rent one for a nominal fee (CRS) w/a 25 hp Evinrude and head out to the Skunk Buoy or Cake Rock for an "Adventure"!!! Many an Eastern Washington dry land wheat farmer would be sent out in search of fish in the fog w/a portable RDF and they'd return that same day! Simply friggin amazin' Some of these folks even had one or two barndoors they'd drag in off the transom! At least they had the common sense to not pull in a 50+ butt into a Puma! To this day, I am totally convinced that God has a soft spot in his heart for Fools & Idiots!

thanks for the steamers bob! i only wish my grocery haul was as large as yours....

some photos from my little trip up North.

while fishing for rockfish on orca is. in ressurection bay, guess what I found...it was silver and white and wasnt fighting like a little quilback...

and in fact it was a fiesty healthy early coho

headed over to the kenai and entered the warzone...

*note-this was about 1/2 mile below the russian...i should of snapped a photo when i was up at the mouth. 10 times as stuffed with people. i kicked myself for not taking a photo of the little board that is hung with safety goggles that you can borrow to protect your eyes from your fellow fishermen.

while flippin' for sockeye, i did get to watch a bear on the opposite for a good hour or so...

this is one of the few reds i managed to take home...never again agree to let some cracker from texas try to net your still full of piss & vinegar sockeye with his $7 fred meyer trout net. beathead

What a great vacation! Seems like you are touching all the bases. Now If I could only get that tiger sauce recipe and maybe catch a fish to go with it... nice photos

What's up Jerry, I ate that fish with the Tiger Sauce and it was darn good! I even went back for seconds of salmon, halibut, steamers, razors and beer. At my petite 290lbs that wasn't easy!

I'm surprised Sparkey went in to combat. Didn't think he'd be up for that type of abuse.

The look on the dude in the red flannel shirt is priceless. Did you know that person Sparkey? I can only imagine what he was thinking.

Oh yeah, as for the bear thing - please tell me it wasn't on that small island across and down from the Russian? I knew when I got on that island that it probably wasn't the smartest thing to be doing. Surprisingly, it wasn't a good place to fish from. All the reds were over on the opposite bank - where all the fishermen stack up. Gee, go figure.

Tiger Sauce ... yummy smile You guys might have to butter up Fishgal with some more flowers for that recipe wink

Smoked razors are good too ... makes an swesome pot of chowder to boot.

Oh, the joys of the Russian. I'll wait until July & private access to get my reds, thanks. It is an experience ... just need the right frame of mind and all is good!!

Thanks for sharing Bob.
Those razors look like you have to lean em against the side of a 5-gallon bucket.
I'm headed up on the 12th for 8 days of hookin.
after lookin at the bear...I'll need bigger bullets.
thanks again .....Os
