There are many brands of pink worms out. Which brand seems to work best?

I've got a question, do you guys think that scent can make a difference in the effectiveness of pink worms? Some freinds and I have debated over this we are torn between, they are just hitting cause the are really pissed off, and it is a combination of both scent and the large profile. I personally think scent can help in the way that is masks human scent which in the end will get you a few more fish on the bank. What do you guys think??

If and when you can use scent, you can use bait. I believe no scent is the norm in no bait areas.

Given the choice, I'd always run bait over a pink worm and scents.

hey guys. Don't know if you realize it, but the fish that is on Downtimes Avatar is a great lakes trib brown trout. Kind of grow em big out here.

Parker: I would have to agree with you if given the choice between bait and plastic. We don't have bait restrictions out here, so a lot of fish get sore mouthed on spawn, crawlers or waxies. I think it's part of the reason that some of those same sore mouthed brats will boink a pink worm. Just something a little different and luckily it hasn't caught on real well here, and I hope it doesn't. Take care and maybe we'll hook up if I'm out in Washington this fall. Love those pics of your little girl. She's a keeper

Sportco sells the Seducers. Well, I think they do. I normally use them, but bought a ton at once. Haven't had to buy them for a bit. Could've sworn it was sportco.

I've used several brands and most work fine. I like the Berkley worms for their texture and toughness. I got some no-name worms cheap last year at the sportsman's show and have been using them all year with good results. For a good deal, Walmart sells Renegade worms dirt cheap. I haven't seen them in the classic bubblegum pink but I've used their purple ones and black ones to catch fish. They come in a big bag (maybe 20 worms?) for something like $1.49.

To my knowledge, Seducers can be bought at Sportco, GIJoes, Outdoor Emporium. I would think that Ted's and Three Rivers would also stock this product.

Just to chime in, I agree with cupo on the idea that Berkley powerworms seem to be tougher than most worms that I have seen used on the rivers.

Big Poly is the manufacturer of seducer worms. I love em and so do the steelies. The berkeleys are great too but fall apart and tear easily upon hooksets. Bob gave me a link to a guy in North Carolina that makes phenomenal worms. www.dannyjoeslures.com. Packs of 20 are only 3 bucks. Earlier this year I purchased a hundred.

240? Come on, at least do an order of 500! wink I go through them like candy! laugh

Danny Joe is my hero! laugh

It's funny talking to him directly. He still is pretty confused as to why all of us Northwesterners keep buying only one color of his floating worms! laugh

Oh, and the bait reference was pointed towards us poor SOBs that are forced to fish restricted waters. Not you, "free for all'ers" over on the other side of the world, Hawk! wink Yeah, one of these days our fishing paths will cross.
