Fished for Springers this morning, started at 6:30am. Trolled herring for about three hours and then added a second rig above (spinner)and we started catching smolts \:\( It seemed that the tide started running out at around 10:30....I decided to put a prawn/spinner rig on top for a while....at around 1:30pm my rod flattens out and it's Fish on \:\) great battle...lots of underwater acrobatics, i finally got it near enough to take a stab at it with the net...strike one! \:o Next dip the 17lb clipped girly fish wasn't so lucky...

Now that's a nice fish...congrats.

How do you rig a second setup? Can you do the same with a kwikfish.

Stop it I can't take this springer harrassment anymore from those who have more fishing time than me, as I sit here staring at my grey cube walls! Its killing me! Next monday I'll be out in the St. Helens area dragging my crippled herring Buoy 10 chinookie death rig.

Time to pick up some prawns for curing and hack of my wife with all the pink die in the kitchen sink!

Nice fish!

Thanks guys \:\)

steelhead nympher, I don't use a dropper so my main rig (herring) is inline with my weight, I put a corkie on the reel side of my spreader (i use a sliding sinker rig) I put the corkie up the line about 3 to 4 feet and put a toothpic in the top...very important.... (it helps the top rig release better if a fish hits it ) Then i add my second rig via large snap swivel.....and can be anything FST, Kwikfish, another herring, spinner or prawn. My prawn rig was with blood red beads and i think a #4 or 5...nickel french blade.

Good luck all !
