It all depends on which scale of measurement I use.

If I use the one familiar to my wife where this: I---------------------------------------------------------I is 6 inches... then it's over 13 feet!

If I use the one printed on the rod, well... that'd be about 9'6".

No surprise in the results......I'm one of the 7%er's 8'6" is max length for me. Popping brush with anything longer is a pain. Salmo, I can almost get two rods out of that flag pole!!

Not being long rod envious, but mine is 10' 6".

Also, it's not the size that matters. It's how the rod performs and feels in your hand!

For that, I prefer my 9 footer!

A 12' handwrapped original Loomis blank I call a serious mooching rod. The terror of persnickity, light biting, limp nosing, mealy mouthed, lazy caudal finned, belly busting, rip snorting kings.
They never know what hit 'em.
