I like to believe that those folks that are doing the hard work to plant the fish are acting on God's behalf. We must give what we wish to receive.

Angg if hiking into remote high lakes is of interest to you I recommend you investigate some of the lakes in the Mt. St Helens area. there are many hike in lakes that have large native trout. mostly cuts and bows. I don't know much about them personally but i know people who have done it and had very good things to say about it.. I don't mind posting it here because we steelheaders are typically too lazy to get that far off the beaten path for trout fishing good luck

KK,
In a flash. I run everyday and Elk and deer hunt pretty rugged ground. I am 45 but feel 18 when I see a piece of water to fish or a ridge to hunt. That hikes is hard on a lot of folks because ypou give up as much elevation as you gain 3 times. The last time I was in there some guys came in from Stehekin packing cases of beer and rubber rafts to fish the lake.

TK,
I too am nearly a half century old (46 in June)and still get a thrill from the back country morning cast..
Another great backcountry trip is going to be on a unnamed Olympic Penninsula river for summer run steelies and some kings and dollies. It's great to catch and release thoise huge wild fish. Used to take the horses up there but the park service let the trail go back to nature and it became impassable. Have to go back to two foot drive. I'll be taking my two sons for a hike up there this year. If anyone is interested in information on this hike, send me a private message for the scoop.

I appreciate all the stories and hints of where to go. We will take the easy path next few days off up off of Tinkam Road. It's a short hike into the first lake and should be abandoned as the last time we set out. Just a short hike in with poles to see if and when we'll be ready for a camp in hike. I've got my dads 1970 book of all water spots, depth, fish, hike in ability and am excited to go to some off the norm spots. What a beautiful state we live in!!!

KK,
I have a climber freind he says the area is infested with hikers these days. Actual traffic jams on the arm.
I never had surgery but beat myself up with sports. I have a magic potion. I keep bees and get stung 10 to 20 times every few months on purpose. Makes the joints feel like you are 18 again. That combined with Guclosamine does the trick.
