For those of you who like fresh morel mushrooms with your spring Chinook, they're out right now. I picked 6 - 8 white morels along with 15 - 20 black morels over the past few days in southwest Washington (Vancouver area). Look for them among the mature cottonwoods. They should be out all thru the month of April and into early May.

So if the springers aren't hitting this weekend, try hunting morels. This weekend should be prime.

cohoangler, you make me envious. Moved from Wa. a few years ago and miss my morel haunts. Picked 10 lbs near the N. fork Nooksack several times in one patch, and found one small patch of large ones one with a cap over 10". Never sold one always ate them all. Good hunting to you.
