Peri, Gamakatsu hooks are dense and brittle. They don't take the filing well and nearly impossible to bend without breaking. Try your technique on Mustads and you will be able to see the difference.
Good Luck

Wow I guess I better quit drooling over that big hatchery fish in the back and read the article you guys are talking about so I'm up to date.

DanS, you said it boy, Zog had me in stitches! couldn't have said it any better, that braid is nothing but crapola in my book. for all the above said reasons,+ need for a leader, extra knots, special knots, who needs that much aggravation when you are trying to spend time fishing?

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Ever fished shoulder to shoulder with a guy using braid? If there is a magnet for mono, its got to be braid. What is sharper than razor on mono, its got to be braid. What is the best catalyst to accumulate a giant ball of snag, its got to be 125 lb test braid. Where do you think braid breaks off on a snag? Most of the time at the reel.
You know what, 99% of the time these guys will come back using mono with a happy face.
I hate braid in rivers.

First of all you do not get anything paid to you at sportco for talking about or endorsing any products, period. Second of all Bill does not like braided lines. except for float fishing. Peace Superfly
