Looking for a good place in the Snohomish area for the maiden voyage in the pontoon boat. My brother-in-law and I are looking for a place to get familiar with the boats and possibly catch a few fish. Close to Monroe would be great, so far I have only been up to Roesinger and that was by power boat. Thanks for the feedback

You can put in at Sultan up at the Sultan bridge and float down to ben howard bridge that is a good float you can do pretty good for chinook in the deep holes. It may be a little scary out there in a pontoon with all the Jetsleds that will be out there but that is a really good stretch of water. I my self wouldnt go any higher in a pontoon than sultan some areas of water maybe a little scary for pontoons.

Why not try Lake Tye just west of the Fryelands. There should still be some fish left from the kids derbies that were held there. Launch at the south end and work a sinktip with a whoolybugger.

you want to do some fly fishing go to blackmans lake in snohomish. The snohomish sportman group has been doing excellent job this year stocking broodstock trout. Dont fish on the docks or you will only be catching planters that arent even worth keeping if that is what you want to do

What you mean the Sky is closed \:D

You would think it was open by all the people fishing at the Sultan boat launch every week.

Honestly I really get tired of stopping to inform people the river is closed.

I'm with the Beezer try Lake Tye there should still be some teeners in that Lake.

Lead thrower,
I wonder how many of our precious Sky native pets were killed by these poachers during March, April, and May.

Hope to god all of our precious natives were smart enough to ignore poachers lures and bait and swim on up to heavenly upper Sky to make a lots babies.

Sultan police department should be out there patrolling the area for these poachers in my opinion.

Nothing like a trebble hook with barbs to welcome in the new smolts which they usually think are Trout.

Most are friendly but one guy got all ticked and said "How am I supposed to fish for Trout if the river is closed", then he stomped off.

LOL. Go figure.

Had a couple fellows come stomping through the neighbors lot early Monday morning, fishing poles (and Bud's) in hand, heading for the beach.

One was a neighbor from down the street, and when I advised him the river was CLOSED to all fishing right now he never missed a step...saying over his shoulder - "Aw, we probably won't catch anything anyway".

Idiots.

Was good to see 2 WDFW people in a sled running down the river this morning and back this afternoon. Looked like enforcement types to me, and I'm glad to see them out there making sure the remining steelhead, Chinook get a chance to do the baby thing.

Now, if we can just get rid of the dozen mergansers, 4 river otters and all the other smolt eating critters we might get a decent return in a few years.

The open area for Chinook is actually from the LSB up to the Wallace.
