TRBO, those Kasilof kings are calling. Wishing you and Fishgal a safe trip north.

Anyone else heading to Alaska this summer?

I will be on the Kenai Pen. June 4-12. I will be going on a halibut trip w/ Bob's service, on the 9 th. and hope to do some bank fishing too. But alot of hiking and exploring the area. Like JerryP, any advice on gear and areas to try would be great.

The company I work for purchased a 55 ft Delta that goes to Alaska all summer and for the last 3 years I have spent 4-6 weeks running the boat. Sport fishing only in the Icy Straits- Cross Sound, Hoonah, Elfin Cove, Pelican area. tough job but somebody has to do it. This year I will be there 15 days in June for Kings and 29 days in July & August for Kings & silvers.

I will be leaving on the 14th of June to go work in Seward and Wasila, concrete work. My girlfreind is going to Europe for the summer and this will be the last chance I will get to go to a place that I have dreamed about since I was a kid. I am very excited to go to the holy grounds of fishing and see it in all its beauty.

Not quite that far north, but I will be going to Vancouver Is. for 2 weeks during Augest. I will be going out one day at Uclet (sp) and hope to find some summer steelhead in the rivers and silvers and SRCs off the beaches.

I'm taking a cruise up the inside passage with my wife in September. Am hoping that there might be a few fish still available that late in SW Alaska. Anybody know about that?

You guys are killing me! I'd love to go this summer, but my 16 year old son is going to Europe for 6 weeks to play soccer. (probably chase girls and drink beer as much as they play soccer). Gotta stay home and pay the bills! Post lots of pics for those of us who will be fishing local this summer.

After skipping most of this past steelhead season with a new baby in the house, I CAN'T WAIT for my trip to Craig with two brothers and Kev (from the board) in late June for three days fishing with Robbo.

I'm headed to the Kenai Peninsula on June 7th for 10 days.

Hope to hammer some Kasilof Kings and some Cook Inlet Halibut.

Did it last year and really did good. Can't wait for this years trip.

It sure is nice to be able to sit in the front seat for a change.

Six of us will be heading up to the Kenai from June 10th thru 19th. Will do a Halibut Charter, bank fish Ninilchik/Deep Creek/Anchor River for the 3 day weekends, bank the Kasilof for Kings during the week with a little sockeye fishing mixed in. This is my 5th time since 1991. It's a great time. Fish til ya drop with 21+ hours of light a day...gotta pace yourself. Good luck all!

This will be the first year in over 11 years that I will not be going to the Kenai for fishing. I hope to be going out to Kodiak in August for Silvers, but that will depend on whether my Niece's Fiance is able to come back from Iraq to get married as planned in August.

Alaska is a beautiful place. It is the only place I go to that sets me into a serious state of depression when I have to come back here. I hope to at least spend the late spring throuh early Fall up there when I retire. Oh what the heck, I will stick around for some Winter too to go skiing.

Good trip to all those headed North.

Who do you fish with on the Kanektok? I have a young friend from North Carolina who will be a newbie guide floating the upper river for some outfitter from the east coast. I know there are only a handful of outfitters working the river.... have you heard of them?

My young friend had to ask me, "Should I take the job?"

Been dreaming about fishing that river for the better part of 10 years, and still haven't made it yet. I told him he had to be nuts to turn down the experience of a lifetime. Oh to be young, single, and childless again!

Heading up with the wife for 7 weeks. Leaving the day school gets out (teachers ).

She's a die hard fisher too (my best catch ever ). Gonna hit everything we can.

Got some friends with a place at the mouth of the Ninilchik. Any info on the Ninilchik run timing would be great .

The operative word there is "few"..... I can never get any sleep the night before flying up to Alaska. Too excited. Of course when I get there I never get any sleep because I'm fishing my brains out. We start at 4:00-4:30 am and finish around 10:30-11:00 pm. By the time you get camp settled and gear re-rigged for the next day, it's 1:00 am again. Yep, that's my vacation schedule.

That plane ride home is usually when it catches up to me.... shortest three hours of the year for sure.

Them kings are a'waitin' FnP.

We're getting a really late start heading up this year due to a major trailer project here ... I'll put some pix up on another thread of that \:\)

Talked to roomie today, they got three on the tide yesterday afternoon, two clipped, one unclipped ... so they're starting to show right about on schedule it loks like.

Less than 24 hours and we should be close to hitting the Canadian border!

Hope to see you up there!
