It takes a lot of oxygen to decompose a salmon carcass let alone hundreds of thousands of carcasses. One area that I see is not getting addressed are the Christmas tree farms. I grew up in Belfair and as a young man worked for several Christmas tree farms. They use thousands of tons of Super nitrogen rich fertilizers a year and the run off goes into the Union River, Mission Creek, Little Mission Creek, Tahuya River, Dry Creek and Dewatto River. On the other side of the Canal Same thing in the Skoke, WikiTiki creek, Liliwaup to name a few. Again Thousands of Tons of fert such as Urea (40%) nitrogen or better. I believe this may be overlooked and needs to be addressed.
