I beleive you can rent kicker boats and motors at one of the resorts curlies maybe not sure on the name, the boats cost 85 bucks a day ouch! but I think if you have a boat, the motors are fairly in expensive. we stayed at the campground at neahbay, it was 14 bucks a night for 3 guys and there was ice snacks and firewood cheap. short run by boat. of course sekui has some restaurants and what not. plus camp beer \:\) good luck

Local,

I just got back from there a hour ago.

Only 1 boat had come it from Salmon fishing and he had a limit for 2 of them. Kings around 15 pounds. Non-clipped are OK for a few days I guess. They said a heck of a bite was on real early in the A.M.

We had our motor home and camped at Olsons and that looks like the place. I saw there was a bunch of cabins and a motel there too. Never checked any prices but it was 18 bucks to park the m/h which is about the going rate.

Never been there before buit they have kicker boats all over the place and with Yamaha motors. Looks like a short run to the Salmon grounds. Bring a boat cushion cuz' I didn't see any comfortable seats in them.

Also a 105 pound Halibut caught the morning before we got there.

We weren't fishing. If this is a zipper I am sorry to offend.

Don't worry,Sekiu is not even close to a zipper.

Van Riper's has better kicker boats than Olson's and IMO, is a much better operation to deal with. I've done the kicker boat rental thing a few times there and the $85 is dawn to dusk including gas. Not a bad deal, all things considered.

buckmaster5x4,

As what I gathered at the ramp it opened yesterday(Sunday)for 4 days and for retention of any Kings clipped or non-clipped. 1 King limit..Release Wild Silvers

Marine area 4 Neah Bay
June 27-Sept 19
From Cape Alava North and inside Juan de Fuca Straight to the mouth of the Sekiu River.

Inside of that area it opens on July 1st.

Only 1 boat had come while we were there before leaving for home. They told us that there were several boats fishing that spot they were in. I have never been there before.

Several WDFW fish checkers around and checking the boats.

Local, On the registration agreement we got I noticed this statment.

Renters must not leave dock before sunrise and return before sundown.

Renters are responsible for having a whistle on board.

Renter is responsible for having enough floatation devices for all persons on board.

Renter is responsible for boat & equipment while renting.

I'll second the "no" vote on Olsens kicker's. Rented one two years ago and couldn't even get to the point to fish, we were forced due to lack of power and tide to fish the caves. Another point to ponder, everyone that was coming in to dock at 5:30am was limited. The resorts won't let you go out before dawn because they supply no running lights on their boats. A little detail they won't tell you on the phone. Arrrgh!!!
