Here's the scoop. My buddy just bought a new boat. It's a 23' Valco bayrunner baja. Center console. Sweet boat. We were wondering first of all, Westport would'nt be out of the question for that boat, right? Second, wondering if anybody who knows the ropes out there would be willing to let us follow them out and "show us the ropes" or better yet, if someone was willing to go with us, on the boat, who has experience, Free fishing for you. ;\) . As always, Thanks for your replys. We want to go within the month of 7.

Lots of us PSA guys go on Sundays and sometimes Mondays, you could follow us or me out anytime. Just be sure to get a chart and study it for a while and understand where the buoys are and of course the sunken jetty. Have at least a gps, compass and vhf on board, as well as all the coast guard stuff.
Keep an eye on the weather and all should be fine.

I'd be willing to team up and run out together. I won't be able to fish westport for a couple of weeks as I'll be at La Push. Do you have a VHF? If you want we can plan to meet up and run out to bonk a few slabs. It really helps to tag along with someone that knows the bar. I'm also a PSA member (SnoKing) although I live on the west side of the sound. How about Sunday the 18th? I'll be going either way. Just Let me know.

Thanks guys. We have VHF, fishfinder/GPS, 'riggers, pretty much everything. I was also wondering when, Fishng1, are the Gig Harbor PSA meetings? We are probably willing to join, as I think it is the closest chapter to us. We want to concentrate on saltwater this year so joining might be benificial to us. If you could get me the lowdown, it would be much appreciated. Also BMF, I'll talk to my boy. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to hook up on the 18th. I'll keep in touch. Also, is anyone going up to Sekui the weekend of the 9th? We plan to also. We've never been there before, kinda wondering what to expect. Thanks again.

We are heading to sekiu the 8th-11th and staying at the coho resort. I would like to hook up with some PSA. members in westport also I belong to the SKC.Chapter. I have been out of westport in the charters but never on my own we have the boat all set up and ready to go let me know the details.
Thanks
Dan

The 18th is a go for me. My only concern is the tides. The low is a -1.4 around 8:30am. This would mean we would need to cross no earlier than 7:30 and stay out at least until within 1 hour of high to avoid the possibility of nasty bar conditions. I'll keep a watch on the noaa report. If the swell remains 3-4 feet it'll be ok.

BennyBlack we usually meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. But this month we are meeting on Wednesday, July 21st because of our scheduled PSA group trip to Canada. We meet at 7:00 pm at TOA which is near Titlow beach in Tacoma. There are directions, etc on our website, yearly dues are only $25.00 for a family.

Thanks FishinNg1. you can expect some new members soon. $25.00 is nothing to save fish.
