Need help..........People have asked about COSTCO and carrying "Mercury Oil". I was able to buy it at Costco in the past. Was at the Tumwater Store, 7-1, did a search on the store computer.......NO Mercury Outboard Oil showed up in "any of the stores".

They are stocking Chevron 2 Cycle oil, now. It's by the case.....12 quarts for under $24.00. The price is good but how does it compare to Yahama and Mercury oil????

Comments????? Please!!!!

My honest opinion....is if it meets the minimum OEM requirements then its fine. Premium oils may add some hours to your engines life, may foul the plugs less or may produce less smoke, but quite frankly I've never noticed any performance difference between the cheap or the expensive.

DrifterWA,
Engine manufacturing brand name oil is actually produced by major oil companies like Chevron.
So you're good to use Chevron or anyother major oil brand name.
Just make sure that the oil you purchase meets the OEM spec.

A long as it's "name brand", and meets requirements I buy whatever is cheapest. Havoline the last year has worked fine for me.
