If you go to the Cow, be prepared to fish with 2000 of your closest friends. \:D There is alot of fish in there though. As for crabbing in the canal, I don't know. I've been doing my crabbing/salmon fishing in area 11. Good luck either way.

I did really well crabbing last weekend in the canal. Real nice size and very plentiful. Don't know about the fishing though. Never done it up there. I know you'll catch fish at the cowlitz, but you probably won't have much fun. It's on every fishing post around. It's going to be as bad as the salmon run of 2001.

Crabbing is good in the canal. There are a few kings around Lilliwaup.

Any reports from Hood Canal over the weekend? Seems like it's getting close to time for the kings to start showing. Last year we did well at the end of July.

Thanks in advance.

The crabbing was excellent. Never made it out fishing though. I am going to be back out this Saturday. Anybody else fish the hatchery area for kings yet?

i've fished the cowlitz a time or 2, friday afternoon, again friday afternoon, there were 8 boats in line to launch @ mission bar, to those that know, mission bar is usually no wait or nothing on week day afternoons, usually there's only a line week end am's... plus, people were ANCHORED up or staying in one spot pulling plugs in practically EVERY drift from mission bar up to BC and/or (usually and) a sled was hammering back up thru every hole we were trying (sic) to drift thru.....
well, there'll be 1 less boat (mine) the rest of this year.... f'n ridiculous...
