I did not see that anyone else had posted this but here's a link to an article to today's Seattle Times about a 42-pound hatchery king caught last weekend.

Nice fish!

Santiago:

"Good to know that Homeland Security has everything under control."

Care to explain that comment?

MB, I believe that Santiago was referring to this line in the story:

Anglers planning on fishing Elliott Bay (open Friday to Sunday only) should be aware that Homeland Security off Todd Shipyards is tight and under the watchful eye of a 50-foot Seattle Police boat that is shooing away boats who get too close to the dry dock area.

I'm not able to connect to the Seattle Times link and see the pic. Their site seems to be down now.

Thanks to the Times article

That was a great fish, and now with it's picture in the paper--every 'lion king' trout pole in western Washington will be out there to land a lunker.

Congradulations to Med. student who landed it.

There's nothing wrong with a little undocumented urban legend. :p

I'll be Back! As Arnold would say, hopefully this weekend at Westport.

Going to be a tough bar though.

Eddie:

Thanks..musta missed that in the article..

Santiago:....nevermind... \:D

42 is a little piggy!...there have been some nice fish caught this year. I picked up a 35 lb. King in the Hoh last month, and was told it was not all that uncommon to see 40#+ in there later in the fall.

If that is so...I'll be back!

Mike

that is one big fish but in the times it also says this The Skykomish near Reiter Ponds will remain closed to fishing until further notice because hatchery steelhead returns have been poor due to low water conditions. Pink fishing in the Skykomish opens Sunday.

but the sky isnt opening for pinks its the snohomish river ;\)
