Well, it isn't really a bar, but I was wondering how many of you consider the tide and wind when you come out of the Snohomish into the bay at Everett? Generally, I never go out on low tide in the middle of the day, but that's when my wife and kids wanted to go crabbing/fishing.

It wasn't that much of a drama, but the wind being opposite of the current at low tide made some pretty decent troughs up to 3 ft at the end of the breakwater. At least, they were big enough to go over my bow.

After getting into the bay, the waves were fine almost flat. Up near Hat Island, it was really calm.

Wind can be a problem, I never worry about the tide.

I have seen the same thing, a strong outgoing tide and a southerly wind. Shold have seen the look on my buddies face when we ended up with a half dozen waves into the windshield. Lucky I had a self bailing bow!!
