Greetings Folks.
Been following the different topics looking for a good place to take a buddy fishing. He is from Pennsylvania and will be here for the next two weeks and is all jazzed up on the possibility of catching his first salmon. I want to take him to Sekiu, but not sure if his wife will allow him to be gone that long. Kingston and the north end of the Hood Canal are real close. Any suggestions?

Thanks & Tight Lines!

A friend of mine caught a 14# & a 9# coho off Kingston today, if that helps.

You live in North Kitsap County!!! The drive to Sekiu is what, 2 hours? GO!!!

I've done well at Kingston, but come on now...Kingston is not Sekiu and the guy is coming a long way to catch fish! Your odds are much better in Sekiu.

Sorry ET,
I'll take more boat time than drive time with a buddy any day especially when the fish are in and it keeps the little lady happy.

Tight,
Right now Kingston is a good call. From Pt No Pt to Jeff Head, from in close to the shipping channel, it don't matter; the fish are in. Of course there are fish at CQ but there might also be wind. At Kingston you can even spend the entire day on the water if you had to and still meet the girls for dinner 10 minutes after you pulled out. Here's your opportunity to be both a hero and a pal. \:D

Tighter lines to ya.

Kingston is less than 6 nautical miles from Edmonds.....if no fish there shoot across the water and troll out front of the oil docks. As was said there are fish just about everywhere.

Thanks for the excellent sugestions! Looks like we are going to put the boat in at Kingston either Sat or Sunday and work that area over. Planning on getting underway before daylight.

Thanks for your excellent input. I will report how we did.

Well, I want to report the fishing was great, the catching wasn't so good. We put in at Kingston and was off Jefferson PT at day light. Lots of bait showing on the surface and bait balls on the sounder. Moved around the corner to Indianola and fished closer to the beach heading back toward Jeff Head, with no luck. We counted 31 boats fishing Jeff Head.

We then picked up and headed over to join the party fishing off Edmonds and connected with one nice fish which was lost near the boat. All in all a good day on the water and my friends had a good time and a fishing story to tell when he returns to PA.

Thanks for everyone's help in getting me into fish for my friend.
