Want to tie up some big bucktails for the bug rods. Heading up to Neah Thursday and want to set new personel best for Fly rod. Yea I now it's cheating but I don't care and I am going to keep it and bleed if it doesn't have to many fins. This is something I have always wanted to do and didn't think I would get to this year until they decided to reopen it.
Pics would be great.

If it's anything like July I could probably glue some shoestring to a hook and do Ok...

My favorites are to use are: white/blue, white/brown, white/green, white/pink, white/orange and white/chartruse. On some of the colors like blue, brown, and green add 4-6 peacock herls on top.

BTW: I believe Neah Bay has been closed to fishing since the 3rd. Sekiu, however, is still open.

I've done well at Sekiu with chartreuse/white, fl. green/fl. yellow/white and purple/pink/white.

Pink outfished everything else we had this summer. We had a bunch of pink clousers but busted them off or they got destroyed. Ended up fishing pink bunny leaches from my river box of flies.
Pink outfished everything else at about 4 to 1.
Usually chartuse is best for me but....

Thanks D3
Hows your local fishing going. Are you still hitting the Shilshoal, Jeff head area or have you moved north?

Blue, green ,and white were the best colors for me. These were tied on hollow Q-tips cut in half and stacked on 6-7 pearl beads and a big eye painted on the head trolled behind a flasther though. Outstanding results but that might have been just due to a lot of fish.
