As I was driving down 101 south this past Sunday eve after fishin on a river up north.I decided to check out the cable hole boat ramp on the hump to see if there were many fish rolling up there yet, well I was shocked @ just how many people were actually pretending to fish for summer steelhead and or trout but really going after the silvers that are present at this time.I watched a half dozen or so fish be caught and released in about a 15 minute period. These salmon were being harrased pretty good.I heard conversations about let's get one more bigger one and take the ****er home and eat it.This is pretty sad. They should either open it up for fin clip silvers only or patrol the area more often.I realize that it opens up on 10/16/04 for one chinook and fin clip silvers, but they should do one or the other of what was mentioned above.Good luck,

P.S. I would have made a call but my nextell suck's until I get into Hoqium.

Strikezone........

I can't believe the rivers aren't open 9/1 for jacks. Have fished the Chehalis between Monty and Fuller Bridge for 30+ yrs. Most yrs. lot's of jacks available, even earlier than 9/1

I hate to troll the 28th Street waters but I don't fish the Humptulips. Its to bad that the average "non-boater" has so few areas to fish this time of the year in Grays Harbor County.

WDF really needs to get these rivers open earlier than 10/1 and 10/15

I feel that in a low water year then the first to middle of October would be fine. But with normal to high water years it should be September 15th.Or just make it September 1st or 15th every year with the possiblity of an emergency later opening.Drifter your right there isn't much bank angling this time of year around your area.Good luck,
