Turikichi, I'm not going to give you specifics on where that is, but it's got a nice deep slot that gradually shallows on both sides, and very little in the way of eddies to deal with.
It's one of the few spots like it on the Sno that I've seen, frankly, and you gotta get there EARLY in the a.m. to get a spot on the bank. I've never fished it myself because I don't like crowding in where it's already full.
Fish are caught (or lost, as in my case the last time I was able to get out) elsewhere, very close by, but just not with as much consistency, at least from the bank.
Think Dick Nites and long leaders!

Nice fish C.M.! But I have to say I disagree with your comment that there is not many people fishing the Snohomish. I fished twice last week, the first trip I put in at Cady park and I had to park three blocks away because of so many rigs ahead of me. The second trip we launched at Douglas Bar, and again at least 30 rigs were there. Going upstream, the banks of Thomas Eddy and Crab Bar looked like the peak of humpy season, anglers shoulder to shoulder, campfires going, party time. Upriver at one certain hole, there were at least 10 sleds/driftboats anchored bow to stern. Casting from the bow of our boat was delicate due to racing boats going by all day. And this way a weekday.

Hey Dr Needle...you're lookin for coho on the snohomish, then when the river is low like this, try Short school rd after the pumpkin patch or connelly rd at the Park by the railroad tracks. Both are in the town of snohomish. Use wee dick nites 2 tone bronze and silver with a 7 ft leader and 6 inch dropper off a tri swivel or small red or orange corky with a piece of black yarn , 7 ft leader and enough weight to get u to the bottom. Getting to the bottom is key and the day break bite or an hour before dark is the best. Good luck...Jim

S.P.- I guess I should have been more clear. First of all have you ever seen true combat fishing in Alaska when the runs are in full swing...that's what I'm talking about! Yes, there are people out fishing and if you are in your boat at THE ROCK, it's going to be combat fishing at it's finest(or worst ). But with the numbers of fish in this system you would think there would even be more pressure. If anyone needs to know how to catch these fish just go talk to Kent at 3rivers...he will definitely get you set up and on top of the game or even better book a trip with Dave or Scott there.....it will be the best $$$ you ever spent! Canyon: Wow what can I say? Those are some nice ho's. A bit frustrated a bit since I fished that exact same spot Monday for 3.5 hours with a 6' leader to a wee nite 1/2 & 1/2 with a dead slow retrieve and just drifting the rig along the bottom and zippo. Hundreds of coho jumping all around and no love for me. Not even a tap. Just don't get it? Even the jackass was laughing at me in the background  Clueless on the Snohomish. BD
