For those of you that think that there is only one place to catch these fish and its some secret hole let me tell you it's not! I don't think any of you saw me in that one spot today, but my daughter and I still had a great morning! Not one person even close to us except for a couple boats that trolled by. Thanks to the black 18 super vee lt. for stopping while Gracies first fish was trying to head for the opposite shore! Here she is with her second ever coho limit! (BTW she's only been out twice this year ;\) ) Hope everyone had as great a time today as I did.

Also, thanks to those who wrote in response to S.T. comments...I won't let one of those people get me down!

Nice fish. Looks like her next lesson should be curing eggs.

That's an awesome picture. Couple questions for you - why don't you clean them on the river? And, can she really reel those fatties in on her own? Wow - if so that's impressive - I have some adult friends that would have trouble playing fish that size right. I hope this lasts a bit longer - it is a lot of fun. Thanks for the pic.

Canyon,

I dont know how you do it I have been fishing up and down the snohomish and I cant get on for the life of me. I had one one this morning and twisted the line around a log and lost him. The pressure on the snohomish is also unbelievable right now went down to neidermans this morning and there was so many people down there this morning I said screw that. I was down there shining my flashlight trying to find a place to fish Yeah GOOD LUCK. Then went down to the 522 bridge the work they have down there adding those boulders underneath the bridge just created snag city. I have caught a quite few fish on the skagit this year and none on the snohomish I am using the same methods as always. You think the pressure that people are putting on the snohomish is affecting the fish?

I've got to ask too, did she really catch those fish herself? When my kids were that little, they'd lose four for every one they'd catch, and I'd have to help them hold up the rod....

Well she may have had a little help from dear old Dad, but she is a reeling machine (thank God for a loose drag). She just keeps reeling whether the fish is running or not!!!! Takes her about 4 to 5 times as long to land a fish but she sure enjoys every second!

That's awesome! I've got an eight year old daughter and a five year old son both of which would LOVE to catch a coho. I guess I should try to take them out on the river once I figure out where to go in my boat. My boat is pretty small for the sound so though I go out alot, I don't feel comfortable taking them.

stldhd_dreaming,
I can't get them to bite either.
I fished the Sky from Sultan down to Monroe yesterday and there were thousands of Coho everywhere but I could not get a hit what so ever. \:\(

Try something totally different ,works for me ,how about float fishing with a big fat dew worm ,seriously try this and I'll bet you get a surprise.Another little trick is to float fish a coho fly such as a Kelseys hope or bead head rolled muddler ,olive wooly buggers also attract coho ,be different ,all the difference in a gong show atmosphere.Or you could drift fish with 10 ft leaders
