Just back from the motherland. The weather was awesome as was the fishing. Here are a few photos worth sharing.

Didn't get the 40 pounder I'm looking for so I'll have to go back next year. A friend of mine from Carnation did land one in the mid-thirtys while I was there. \:D

What pretty fish! And no other folks fishing in the background to boot.

Sol-On-The-Duc, Did you get tired carrying that same fish from drift to drift taking pictures?

This *IS* Piscatorial Pursuits and in keeping up with the current demeanor of the board, was going to say some nasty comments about harassing fish on their spawning beds, holding natives fully out of the water, and how you probably just flossed them with that over-sized Dick Nite in the photo (you obviously re-positioned the spoon for the photo).

But, I changed my mind. ;\)

Nice toads. One of these days I need to go North, Ehe.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Nice cohos!

Oh man. I hate sitting at a desk this time of year.

Beautiful fish there. Nothing is better than knowing there's a good chance somebody BIG is about to clobber your BC Steel....

Hey Sol, Nice pics.
I noticed in your first fish pic that it looks like you ran high vis right to your lure (is that a canadian wonder?)

What are your thoughts on whether or not this matter to the fish?
I have caught a few fish with high vis leader before, but normally dont use it because I think it might cut down on strikes. Whattaya think?

Thanks,
Ryley

It's a 2/3 oz. BC Steel, half and half.

As far as running high vis directly to the lure. I do when spoon or spinner fishing for steelhead and salmon and have not noticed a reduction in strikes. They seem to focus very intently on doing damage to the lure itself and don't notice it.
