The Dick Nite works so good up north I had to ask this ? because I would like to try them down her on the Cow and other rivers.Which sizes and which colors.I hear that you use the wee size but do you change the hook.Any info would be great.

I've used the wee's on a few rivers down here. They seem to work well in a certain scenario that I'll call "fun fishing". Because the hooks are so small and soft, you'll lose about half the fish you hook. I would imagine that putting a bigger hook on these would change that critical wobble the little dickies have.

I fished the Barrier dam area last October, the weekend we had the great floods up north. (where I usually fish)

Everyone was snagging the old boot kings that were lying in the soft water, using the usual corky/yarn long leader setup.

I tied on a #1 50/50 Dick Nite and was working the current and I caught quite a few silvers. The hooks are a bit soft on the size 1's too but I was casting them with my Loomis 1141 so the extra play in the rod helped with the hook bending out.

There were some nice bright silvers in there that day. I hadn't fished there since springers about 10 years prior.

I'd use the size that is one size up from the Wee Nite. I think they call that a #1 Dick Nite? The next size up has a barrel swivel. You don't want that one.

I like the 50/50's for cohos but have caught cohos and kings on the silver with chartreuese or pink on the tip. The kings seems to like the pink and will readily pick that one up.

It's kinda like sturgeon fishing when you hook a chrome 20 pound hen nook on a Dick Nite using an 1141s and 8lb. test and leader. You will bust the line before you straighten out the hook. They are good hooks.

This hook didn't bend out on this king - and it towed me around for an hour! This fish was harmed and not let go to spawn in the wild! \:D

Yes, I really do have a photograph of *everything*! ;\)

Oh yeah. See the Dick Nite in the SNOUT? Not flossed. ;\)
