The river is in great shape.
I fished there today and yesterday.
Lots of boots and not a single chromer.

But the funniest yet very sad thing I saw was a guide who took 2 older gentleman into the hatchery hole bank. He managed to fill their punch cards with one 3 lb. silver each and both fish were dark skinny carcases.

How sad it was to see two senior fishermen taken advantage like this.

Why are you asking this question? Your backyard not good enough for you \:\) I'm going to give you serious cr@p if i see you starting to drive 2+ hours to go fishing.

Cheers!

a fair question

we're kinda tweenered here right now.

haven't had a chance to look at the duc yet today but it was pretty low and clear yesterday. headed down to my favorite hole later today to take a look.

not enough rain for the good creeks man, either if you know what i mean.

there are plenty of dark fish to go around, I'm stalking the freshies.

...just keeping my options open...

:p

The Hump is over 3000 cfs right now it's way out. I look for flow #'s that are similar to the Nooch when it's in.

As soon as it goes on the drop, it'll fish. If it's just turned down, take bait and big hardware and fish close to shore. If it's been dropping a day or more, I'd swim a 1/4 oz jig for silvers...or just fish your spoons.

They should be there in a big push after the high water now.

Or you could just stay home, rast a couple, and head out back. Tough choice. ;\)

fwiw?
12 ft is cool
maybe even eleven
but 10 or 13?
not worth my time:(
18 to 24 hours after the peak flow untill the 10 ft gauge is encountered are worth the trip unless nets or goomba's litter the basin
i'll be there thursday
and i'll catch a chrome king
the question i'll answer then?
will i keep it?
bright factory ho's get the wood shampoo regardless:)
but then again?
if i lived near the quilluete?
i'd stay home:)
is the hump any better than the hoh?
the queets?
the "duc"?
satsop?
wynooch?

bottom line
they all blew/punched/swelled/PMS"D
they all got bright new fishies:)
fish close to home and save a rotting dinosaur

Steely Slammer has the right idea. When I go to a river and it's in good shape etc.. I will check the flow level on the web page and make a note of the condition of the river as it relates to the flow. All the rivers should have fresh fish.

You guys are hilarious.

I suppose if I asked for hump reports, you would have told me to go there and see if I caught any fish.

Thanks for the great info....

Why are you even signed up for this board if you are unwilling to share information, even information as lightly impactful as when does the hump start to drop in?

I mean, its not like I've never been to the hump, its just been ten years since I fished it regularly.

What's gas now, 2.25 a gal?....lets see that's 180 miles round trip in a car that gets twenty...call it twenty bucks in gas.

Sorry if this shatters your illusion about me, but I can't afford to risk twenty bucks on a river that may or not be in when I get there, especially when my backyard is what it is.

If you don't like the internet or the extra people, tourist income and information it can provide your community and the average fisherman, do us all a favor and boycott it.

Unregister.

Otherwise, you are doing the hypocrite dance. "i don't like it when people on the pp board find out stuff about my river"...."oh, i think i'll sign up"

see how ridiculous that makes you look?

Thank you's go out on the other hand to those willing to provide actual answers to my innocuous question.

Look out Humptulips, the convoys of internet fishermen are on their way to crowd you out of your holes.

Death to TonyD........!!

h2o - You should know by now that this board isn't known for information, it's only known for its whiners.

If it's info you want, go to http://www.gamefishin.com and register. They don't put up with this kind of crap.

i didn't think anyone read that thing.

the only real hitch in that theory is that the thought bubbles are in English, if he were Mexican you'd think they'd be en espanol.

to answer your original question
tomorrow will be about as good as it gets for water conditions
chromies and boots of both aplenty today with green coming and 1-2 ft vis
nice to see no real a-holes either considering the number of folks out
all in all it was a fine day out
