Here's something to cheer up the Dawg Fans out there. A friend of mine compiled this during his lunch break.
*****
Rick Neuheisel's "mythical" Northwest Championship is really a good idea, somebody should step up and produce a trophy.
Over lunch the past few days, I've been calculating the history of this fine event.
I consider a full win to be an undisputed winner when all 4 teams (Oregon Ducks, OSU Beavs, WSU Cougs, UW Huskies) play each other.
Full Wins: Oregon: 8 WSU: 8 OSU: 12 UW: 31
Partial wins are undisputed winners when at least one of the six games isn't played that year.
Partial Wins: OSU: 1 WSU: 6 UW: 8 Oregon: 12
Split Wins are either 3-way ties, or two-way ties in years without a head's up game. (I don't break split wins into full or partial)
OSU: 6 Oregon: 8 UW: 8 WSU: 8
That gives us total wins:
OSU: 19 WSU: 22 Oregon: 28 UW: 47
Full sweeps are years all six games are played, and someone goes 3-0.
Full Sweeps: Oregon: 4 WSU: 5 OSU: 10 UW: 26, which includes the 5-year sweep between 1976-1979, the longest win streak in the NW Championship.
UW also got the first NW Championship, a 3-0 sweep in 1903, the first year all teams played each other. UW swept again in 1912, the second full year.

when your program is sitting at the bottom of the toilet you have to find some postive. Today the NCAA went light on the dogs. Hopefully opening the door to Fire Gilby and bring in a coach that will turn the program back into the once feared titan that Don James built. All the obstacles are gone it's time to get on with the show.
Remember the sound of the defense hitting opposing offenses . If a team like San Jose state called the dog s a girly team back in the day they would have had to fight there way to the airport. They did it two weeks ago and everyone agreed with them.

Thanks Parker I needed that! Last time they were this bad (1-9) was my first year in school and that was a long time ago.
King...do you really think Gilby is the problem? I think its a hole in recruiting lineman leftover from Neuheisel's reign.

I don't know what it is about me but I must be the only guy out there that absolutely hates all sports that use a ball.
And no, corkies are not a ball :p

The folks on KJR were saying they saw Rick Neuheisel in a random crowd shot on the Fox broadcast at the Red Sox/Yankees game last night.

Jam,
Gilbys record is very similar to his other head coaching stints. So I think it's him.

Even used the Tivo to look back at it. Can't say that it was Neheisel. Looked close, but I don't think it was him.

The Dawgs are down and very nearly out. College football is all about stability and belief in a system. By losing games, belief in the system is now shot and all that is left is belief in a coach. What recruit would want to come to UW knowing that the coach that is trying to recruit you likely won't be around long anyway.
If Gilbie isn't the guy, they had better change this year, find someone great and be prepared to give the guy five years regardless of his record in the first four years.
They are in BIG trouble! I'm just glad my alma mater continues to roll! University of Wisconsin(The REAL UW!) Go Badgers!

There's two things I was put on this earth for. Following the dawgs and fishing. Good for you Parker for bringing up my beloved dawgs on this board. I don't know if you tailgate, but if you do, there's a cold beer waiting for you for the Arizona game. Tyee section, north parking lot. Would love to talk dawgs and fishing for a bit. Look for a pm
