Hi all, I'm trying to take my folks out fishing for silvers and hoping I can tie them into some. Is there any bank access on the Skokomish? Where generally? Thanks in advance for any tips. I'm also wondering if you need a tribal fishing license of some kind, assume it's near or goes through the reservation?

It's not far from the 101 bridge to the mouth, you'll see where you can fish and where you can't. Stay on the non-tribal side of the river and you'll be fine. If you want to walk a bit.... look where the cars are parked in places you can't see the river and follow the trail. Once you get there, I'm sure it will be pretty clear.

We had good success there last weekend. Both my wife and I caught a ton of fish (silvers and chum). The silvers were huge (a couple pushing 20 lbs) and we got 6 between us. Probably got into at least 15-20 chum also.

Stay off the reservation land or you might get netted and gutted for your eggs.

The Purdy Creek Cutoff road is most of the public access (and it is VERY public....teh whole public will be there). You can also park at the bridge by the little store in union and follow the crowd.

Anywhere there are 200 or more cars, there is river access. ;\)

Anybody know if the tribal cops have been making any noise about walking under the bridge. For the last four years I have accessed the river by stepping over the guard rail and walking down the trail. It's on tribal land, but I have never been hassled about it.

If you want to fish just west of the 109 bridge it is better than anything else.
