Looks fishable to me, visibility might be limited but the river is right. Go get em.

I agree with Spartan.

The Elwah does not take the big "hit" of rainfall we tend to get in the fall, but we did not get one this season. The last time I drove over it in daylight there was an easy foot of visability---more than enough for that river. Should be a good brat season unless we get wacked by the "big storm" in the weeks to come.

I have heard that in the past the elwha is a ggod river. What kind of returns does it have and when is the best time, also is there much bank access.

Not tons of bank access as in other river but plenty for the pressure it gets, now is a fine time but it cloese for salmon after this weekend. Lots-o-fish.
Go get em cowboy. Hope that helps

Not much to the elwha, I like to fish the indian side and walk up and fish every hole on the way up on the tide or not there is a ton of steelhead in there it just blows out and stays out usually for the season! go out there and get them \:\)

The river has been hot for the past month for silvers but is slowing down. Fished it Friday afternoon and caught four but three had been around for a while. Saw six others caught by seven fisherman. The river is cloudy about one foot of visibility. Reservation side is my favorite and safest. I hate rocks falling around me on the clay bank side. Do walk up river and fish all the holes until you find the fish. Great river for steelhead when the color is right.
