Why, in the name of the fishing Gods, would you fish with all your gear { tackle box, coat, coffee and rod} in the middle of a boat launch?

The story goes like this. A fella shows up to launch his boat and is sitting there waiting for you ,"you being the guumbah set up in the middle of the launch, to notice him but you are obviously ignoring the man driving the 1 ton 4x4 truck. So the man behind the wheel of a F-350 honks his horn yet you still ignore him. So the nice man slowly works his way past the door knob's gear narrowly missing it. He is nice cause a tackle box would prove no match for a fine American automobile like that.

Seem to see this from time to time. this is another one of those "why do people do it and why didn't your Daddy teach you any better" questions.

Anybody have a clue?

I don't want to start an argument or make enemies but I have been stewing about this for a long time. Why, when I go to Sultan to launch, there is always some guy sitting in front of me in line in a drift boat waiting his turn to put his boat in just sitting in his truck? Once he gets to the launch he proceeds to unload all his gear out out of the truck and spend the next ten minutes setting up the boat. Why didn't he do that while waiting in line like everyone else? This has happened to be more than once by a local relatively big name guide, (I won't name him), you would think he would Know better. One time some guy pulled into the middle of the launch in front of me and started to inflate and assemble his completely taken apart pontoon boat, completely shutting down the launch. He did move when I asked him politely but he wasn't too happy about it. There was at least three others waiting for the launch that time.

I complain about Sultan because that is usually where I am, but the worst I have seen in the launch at Wind River. Hopefully I never go back there, I've found better spring fishing closer to home.

Amazing how people think, or don't think from time to time!

The problem is that you guys are all above average intelligence or I assume you are from your posts. This means that over half the people out there are not as smart as you are. And to think you share not only the boat launches with them but the freeways also. Just think about it for a minute.

By the way if you want a real good laugh go to Burlington launch on the Skagit opening day of humpy season.
