It's pretty hard to go fishing for perch after you've been fishing for silvers and chum but I was thinking about taking the kids out today in the northern end of Lake Washington. I hear that there's great fall perch fishing there. Does anyone know where we should go exactly? And whether its too late? I hear its good in September/October but don't know about November.

I have not caught a lot of perch incidentally on the north end while trolling for trout. I think most are in the south end and maybe around UW. I would check out the fishing map that you can find at Ted's. Good luck and if you do good please post. BTW trout fishing should be picking up about now(arrowtree point, Juanita bay, Kirkland shoreline). May even luck into a winter run although that don't happen much anymore.....Damn sea lions.....damn politicians pretty much put an end to that oppertunity .

There are usually schools of perch in Juanita Bay and in the Kenmore area. This is a bit later than I usually target them, but begin by looking in water 20-30 feet deep. If you have a decent fish finder you should se school that look a bit like haystacks at any depth from 20-60 feet. I believe they tend to move deeper as fall progresses.

This year, in September, we found small schools around Kenmore in 33 feet of water, but they were bigger than usual. Several were more than 12 inches.

You may want to look alot deeper if you don't find em there. Last year a few weeks earlyer than this I found them in 80 to 105' of water.
I went back a week later and couldn't hold the boat with my anchor in only a mild wind. My son is nagging me to go again so please post if you find them...

You are a bit late for perch, but they still can be found in deeper water. Last weekend I came accross a couple of schools off Arrowhead Point in 50-60 feet of water. I imagine they'll be deeper yet. Hunts Point held several large schools a couple of weeks back, also check out Juanita Bay.

I know you fellas are talkin Lake Washington but it definitely is to late to go out on Lake Goodwin and get your 300 Perch in 2 1/2 hours there. Just gotta scoot around to find em, usually doesn't t ake to long to do that and when you do..........let the games begin!
