Ahh. The feel of winter is here. The hatchery steelhead brats are in the rivers. The potato guns are primed and ready! That can mean only ONE thing.... Snoopy Rod Classic! And what better way to get the competition going than a little SRC Smack Talk! The Green Jacket is cool and all Sparkey, but I've got my eyes on that nifty trophy BNelson. Get that bad-boy shined up, as it will look good sitting in my office this year! I've got a new SpongeBob Square Pants Rod that is The Bomb! You guys don't stand a chance. Rumors have it that The Really Big One has even found and made some SpongBob Square Pants slip floats. Wicked! PS. Bring your checkbook Sparkey, as I'm collecting that dinner you owe me from *LAST* year!

Just be careful if you have any heaters in your boat. Last year, he really tried to set himself on fire!

Is that Snoopy Rod Classic by invite only?
If so, how about inviting some of the other folks on the board????? Having the chance to participate would be mucho better than just reading about it. Most of us (likely me included) would never have a chance to go...but it would be nice to know the opportunity exists.
Read all about it last year...sounds like great fun. Is it just the "Good 'Ol Boys" group, or can others join in?

Oh yeah and as Robbo almost found out, wearing a cup isn't all that bad of an idea as well! My ribs have healed up from last year, so I'm ready to do battle with ReiterRat again and his Cataract Oar that I have named "thumpy".

The best thing to do is when you get a fish on, is to stay calm, act like nothing is going on, keep the rod tip low, tell the fish to not splash around so much and to scream out: "BNELSON HAS A FISH ON!!!!"

Mike ... It's basically invite-only. Just a group of friends (mostly guides & industry types) that get together to totally goof-off for the day. We like to keep it somewhat small and only usually recruit prople when we need to fill a seat or two. Apparently a number of people complained to a few participants last year ... So, if you don't like it ... avoid the river on Dec. 3. Fair warning It's not like we're doing this in some remote setiing where other anglers should expect solitude & peace. This is the Bogey bratfest after all! We purposely try to keep it off the week-end, but we do tend to get a little on the wild side, so if you're going to be offended, please fish elsewhere Team PP with the monster barge will reclaim the Green Sweater, or better yet, get our first crack at the trophy. That's my guarantee!!!!!!

Yeah, I recall that scene. We had a good scrum going on. That BNelson guy hooked a fish and we all converged on the easy pickings. For the life of me, I still don't know how that fish ended up in his net! I will do a better job of photo documenting this years tourney! I think I'll even take some video this year.

There must be something wrong with you Bucket if you wanna watch DH ... it's Kaddyshack meets Jaws meets Grumpy Old Men!! I got this one in the bag. I offered Mike half off his trip today if I could have this dandy 14+ pound hatchery fish he caught. It's laying somewhere in the bushes now

Yes Bob many say there is something wrong with me! But with no formal invite I figured watching with a few would be enjoyable. OH if I didn't have several meetings on the other side of the pond on Friday I would love to sit back and row a fisherperson (dreaming of being Steve) down the river. Maybe next year! You folks have a GOOD time now! By the way Bob thanks for taking a second and shaking my hand a couple of weeks ago at the take out. I REALLY do enjoy this forum.

Bucket: How about we set up a major tailgate party at the take-out?? Lots of burgers and brews..and a few brauts to boot. A couple large golf umbrellas to keep the rain off...a nice fire going and we'll just wait for the winners to row in. Ya gotta pick a team, though. I'm rooting for Bob's team...and anyone that beats Parker... Mike
