if you had to choose between the kalama or skykomish for winter steelhead, which one would you fish?

Did the Kalamabama last weekend. Little to now pressure, maybe 5 boats, only one late summer run nate that we Cnr'd..Pretty early for the Kalama but was the only river in shape within minimal driving distance. Someone else here I am sure will give you a report on the Sky. Good luck

I'd go with the Kalama - the canyon area of that river is one of my favorite places on earth to fish.

Look for the red X on the guard rail and follow the trail down to the river.

For winter steelhead? Sky,no contest

Ask the guys at Three Rivers. They'll tell you where to go, but you'll need a brand new alumaweld first

All the literature on the Kalama speaks poorly of the winter steelhead returns. The Kalama is a fantastic river for all fish for most of the runs, it's one weakness is winter steelhead. I will post the exact return number when I get home to look at the reference material.

A little early for the klam klam try back in the begin or mid of January. If you are in the canyon watch out for the Cougars.

Why, are'nt they in a bowl game this year.
