Does anybody know if they sell a Canadian license over the interweb yet? If not when they plan on doing it.

I remember some posts this last Summer saying they were going to be starting this.

Thanks.

According to Jim Goerg of The Reel News in the Dec issue Editor's Creel, you can now buy a BC fishing license online.

I found the link, but what I meant to say in the first post was a NON-Resident license.

Benny, I've been monitoring this as I fish up there every year. I still can't buy a non-resident license on-line. It took them three times longer than they originally stated just to get it up for residents and that still doesn't include a tidal water license. So don't be surprised if it's not available to us until summer or later of 2005.

I usually buy mine at the True Value in Lynden. They are very knowledgable and have a good selection of tackle as well.

I usually drive up on a Saturday in Jan when everythings blown out and go thru the truck crossing and pick up a lic at the campbell river store a mile up the road. Then its on to Freds, or Hub, or Berrys for a little BC trinket shopping.

Dave, I called the store in Lynden last summer and they said that they only sell freshwater licenses--- have you bought a salt water license there?

Lynden? Do you mean the campbell River store? The Campbell River store has saltwater licenses as this is where I get them every year.

I get mine also at the Campbell River Store but I had heard that you could get a license at the True Value Hardware in Lynden(in Washington near the border about 20 miles out of Bellingham), when I called them they said they only sold freshwater licenses.

The hardware store in Lynden changed their assiciation away from True Value to "Do-It". Same location but different name. Nice to go there and not have to deal with the border crossing. I have only bought fresh water liscence so I can't be sure if they sell the tidal waters liscence. Try 360 354 5617. You will be impressed with the knowlege and Hunting/Fishing gear there too.

By the way, another hardware store opened up around the corner that is True Value so don't get the two confused.

JG: No I have not bought my saltwater license there. I do not know for sure if they carry them. If I think of it, I will call them tomorrow to see, and I will report back.

I get mine at Van Isle Marina just the north of Sydney. It's about a 10 mile run from Roche Harbor. They sell licenses right at the fuel dock so you don't have to leave the boat, which means I don't worry about clearing customs. On the way back to Roche I always drag a line through Sydney channel and sometimes pick up a salmon or two. It is great fun to do this during ling season because it breaks up the day and I get a little salmon fishing in on the canadian side.
