I asked in another thread why some are so fixated on what Kerry's Iraq plan is, while at the same time they don't seem the least bit interested in what Bush's plan is.

Although Bush's mantra is "Stay the Course," no one can give me an idea of what "the course" is.

So I did some searching and couldn't find anything either, except for multiple instances of what the administration's present course has caused. Here's the latest:

Results of Bush\'s Course

GH,

The course is intended to liberate Iraq and install and Iraqi constitutional democracy. That has been very clear since day one. Bush has said he will not exit until the above is accomplished. So the exit plan was always to be when the job was done. It appears there have been some changes as there always are in war and nation building. He has always been clear. Americans have short attention spans and if they don't get what they want quickly they want to abandon their resposibility and pretend it never existed. Much like in divorce and abortion ,promise on thing and do another when the reality sets in that anything worth doing is going to be hard. Also that sometimes you make decisions that don't turn out how you hoped but that is not an exuse to run or take the easy way out. It's hard for libs to understand because they are used to saying one thing then doing another. The fact that someone does what they say they will do and sticks to it is baffling to the flakes on the left.

Theking,

I couldn't help but notice the phrase, "nation building" in your rebuttal. Do you recall that one of the center pieces of Bush's "foreign policy" and critique of Clinton was his accusation that he does not believe in nation building, as he believed Clinton's position in Cosevo was tied to......

No, that's the goal. What is the course to reach that goal? It's become painfully obvious that his course is flawed and extremely deadly.

Saying he will not exit until the goal is accomplished says nothing. It's merely stating the obvious. That is not an exit plan.

Too many Americans are continually lulled into complacency by Bush's empty rhetoric. Claiming that he's always been clear is easy when he doesn't say anything.

On a side note, you seem to mention divorce and abortion a lot in your political analogies - you got some hidden issues or baggage you're carrying around?

GH,

No. Most libs do however. They tend to live a life of do as I say not as I do. So I use the analogy to point at the basic flaws in their logic. Everything comes down to right and wrong when all the facts are kown. Libs want people to think that the world exisits in 16 million shades of gray. That way they have a way out of anything.

I will give you this . I think it is time to leave Iraq to its people. They will either stand up on their own or fall down. We need to work on keeping other islamic regimes from interfering with their destiny and keep terrorists from using the instability to thier gain.

I don't know if anyone had a chance to watch Nightline last night, but the program focused on Cheney's influence on the President. This was brought up again due to Bush's insistence that Cheney accompany him to the 9-11 Commission Hearing in the oval office.

While I don't hate Bush, I have often doubted if he had enough depth to handle this incredibly difficult job as commander in Chief. The fact that he didn't answer the questions alone brings to light many obvious questions...

the program went on to point out the Cheney made 10 trips, personally to Langley, which has been attributed in Woodward's book as a mission to get evidence of WMDs in Iraq. Then in August 2002, Cheney made a speech to a Veterans Group claiming that the CIA now has reports that there is evidence of WMD's. CIA operatives have been quoated as indicating the Cheney pressured them to agree with his reports. Bottom line to the message is that Cheney was a "steamroller."

I also find it interesteing when asked - • Did Rumsfeld advise the president to go to war?
April 29: 'He did not ask me,' says Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.
MSNBC

The lack of consensus within his own administration is amazing on such an important issue, let alone the lack of details for justifying it.
