They are not claiming it because they know there are many plausible explanations for it. It is my understanding TheKing accepts it as ultimate proof? Am I wrong?

TK, Grandpa,

I'm a skeptic. I was assured by Colin Powell, a man I respect far, far more than our President, that Iraq had WMD with imminent intent to use them against the U.S. Now, over one year after invading Iraq, we finally find one relic, or dilapidated piece of nerve gas ordinance. This is not very convincing. Based on Powell's performance to the U.N., I expected the U.S. military to find significant and substantial stockpiles within days or weeks of our takeover. Or, horribly, have the Iraqi military use those weapons on our invading forces.

Considering the pep talk about WMD the administration gave to gain support for this invasion, this particular piece of ordinance amounts to piss-poor evidence. Therefore, I agree that we now have piss-poor evidence that Iraq still possesses WMD, but we've a long way to go to validate the "imminent threat" claim.

Sincerely,

Salmo g.

No I am not saying it is all the proof. I am saying under the treaty it is enough proof.

We went in with our best intel. I may prove to be wrong it may prove to be right we will not know for some time.

Interesting that there are two sets of standards for judgement of guilt. One for you and one for the other guy.

I hate to think our president would commit this nation to war, killing thousands of people and expending billions of dollars over one old artillery shell.

And if it was smuggled into the country after the war started than it doesn't apply; all treaties are null and void in the advent of war. (That's why we should declare war on the Native Americans to fix the Boldt Decision ;\) )

But then I'm just one of those gray-thinking people. \:D

Harley,

Are you related to the captain of the Titanic. All he saw was a little chunk of ice.
